Fiscal Sponsorship
Fiscal sponsorship is a cost-effective way to implement new programs, bring together groups to collaborate on an issue and test new approaches to social change. It enables individuals and organizations to start new programs without establishing a new, separate nonprofit organization.![]()
Economic Impact Study
Site and Sound is the fiscal sponsor of the development of an Economic Impact Study on music in San Francisco. This project is being guided by faculty at the UC Berkeley Haas School of Business at the direction of the San Francisco Chapter of NARAS, or the National Academy Of Recording Arts & Sciences, Inc. ("The Recording Academy").
Research Partner UC Berkeley Haas School of Business will provide an economic impact study based on San Francisco's music industry (live music venues, record labels, music technology, recording studios, music education). UC Berkeley faculty and students will conduct research for credit as an independent study project, provided in-kind with no financial compensation from The Recording Academy. Research will be conducted in coordination with the San Francisco Chapter's Advocacy Committee.
The Root
The San Francisco live music scene is a vibrant one, but without a physical space to call its own. The Root shall provide musicians of every level with access to first-class opportunities all under one roof, including information on booking, distribution, publishing and marketing as well as affordable rehearsal, studio and lodging space. The Root will build community through partnership and hosting regular events and workshops.
